Info zur Skulptur "Our Lady Immacolata with angels on the moon"

The Immaculate Conception of Mary is a symbol of the Catholic Church's doctrine of faith, according to which Mary, the Mother of God, was saved from every stain of original sin. In this way, God protected Mary from sin from the very first moment of her existence, because she was to become the Mother of God.
This doctrine is to be distinguished from that of the virgin birth. It does not refer to the conception of Jesus, but to that of his Mother Mary, who was conceived, conceived and born naturally by her parents, but remained free from original sin ("without blemish"). Immaculata Latin for "the Immaculate" is one of the Marian titles of the Catholic Church.
A special ecclesiastical feast of the Conception of the Virgin Mary, conceived without original sin, is celebrated on 8 December, nine months before the probably older feast of the Birth of the Virgin Mary.

This figure is carved from high-quality South Tyrolean wood and hand painted. You can buy it here on our online shop www.salcher.com
