Mary Ascension on the 15th. August has been known since the seventh century how Mary's physical ascension into heaven is reported. In 1950, Pope Pius XII adopted the doctrine of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven. declared dogma, i. e. the binding content of faith.
At the heart of the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary is Mary's intimate relationship with her Son Jesus. Ascension means that after the end of her earthly life she has reached the state in which the rest of the faithful will not reach until after the resurrection on the Last Day. It is the image of the saved man.
