Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Amongst special people, who lived in our times, Mother Teresa ranks high. She was born out of a well-to-do Albanian family and had the name Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhius when she was born in Skopje on August 27, 1910. One day she heard the call of Jesus to leave everything behind and to help the poor. Agnes founded her own convent and hence lived in Calcutta. She served God in the truest sense of the word. In 1979 she received the Peace Nobel Price and many outstanding people came to visit her. When mother Teresa died on September 9, 1997, the world lost a great shining light.
